I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! I wanted to start a segment based on the different types of shampoos and conditioners that are on the currently on the market. Many customers and clients come into my salon and ask, "What is the best shampoo and conditioner?". I feel like people are too focused on looking for the best shampoos and conditioners Today's post is dedicated to shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair.
Recommendations:
- Redken Color Extend - Amazing formula that works for all hair types. Not only does it prolong the color, it also protects the hair from UV rays. The S&C are cranberry oil based to help prolong and maintain color vibrancy. The combination smell amazing!
- Redken Color Extend Magnetics - Very similar to Redken Color Extend line but the shampoo is sulfate-free, which will help preserve the color even more! I will be writing a separate post on sulfate-free shampoos, so stay tuned :)
- AG Color Savour - AG is one of the more natural hair care lines due to their salt, paba, parabens, and DEA free formula. The shampoo is sulfate free, which will help prolong the color for a longer period of time. If you are looking for a S&C that contains natural ingredients but do not want to break your bank, give these a shot!
- Pureology - Overall, the whole Pureology line is for color-treated hair, which is the main difference from any other hair-care line. Pureology also contains natural ingredients and is also sulfate and paraben free. The line is able to target certain areas such as hydration, repairing, volumizing, and smoothing, while protecting the vibrancy of the color. Whereas most of the other hair-care lines will only have one type of S&C that simply only targets "color-treated hair". The Pureology line is able to target more consumers due to their emphasis on serving more than one purpose when it comes to S&C. Pureology prices are on the higher side due to the quality of the S&C., but you will definitely get what you pay for!
